MOCO alternative for software agencies

Spedy vs. MOCO

MOCO is the invoicing side of your agency: quotes, hourly rates, invoices. Spedy is the delivery side: one board per client, tickets, pull requests, time on the ticket and MCP for your agents. They don’t replace each other. Spedy sends the hours to MOCO.

Context

What MOCO is built for

MOCO is agency software for the commercial side: track time with hourly rates, write quotes, send invoices. If that is what you need, MOCO is the right place, and stays so with Spedy. What MOCO does not model is the developer day with your own agents: tickets an agent picks up over MCP, pull requests on the ticket, pipelines in view, and approval of agent time before it becomes an hour.

When MOCO is the better choice

  • You need quotes, invoices and hourly rates in one system. That is MOCO’s core, and Spedy deliberately doesn’t have it.
  • Your accounting already works in MOCO and should stay there.
  • You want to evaluate utilisation and margin in euros. Spedy counts hours and leaves the valuation to your invoicing software.

When Spedy is the better choice

  • Your developers and your agents work in tickets, branches and pull requests, and that should hang off the client, not disappear in a terminal.
  • You want to see and approve agent time before it lands on an invoice.
  • You want to give clients their own login without paying per client.
  • You want an MCP server that Claude Code, Codex or Cursor use with the context of the right client project.

Migration or side by side

Spedy next to MOCO: the hours sync automatically

You don’t have to cancel MOCO. Time tracked in Spedy can be synced to MOCO per board, cleanly split by client and by billable or not. Quotes, invoices and hourly rates stay where your accounting already has them. Spedy replaces Linear, Confluence and Toggl on the delivery side, not MOCO.

Frequently asked questions

Does Spedy replace MOCO?
No. Spedy takes over the delivery side (tickets, wiki, time on the ticket, PR status); MOCO keeps the invoicing side. Tracked time can be synced to MOCO per board.
How do hours get from Spedy to MOCO?
Per board you pick the matching MOCO project; tracked time syncs there, including the billable-or-not distinction. Approval of agent time happens in Spedy beforehand.
Can Spedy invoice our clients?
No, deliberately not. Spedy has no hourly rates and sends no invoices. MOCO stays responsible for that. Spedy delivers the hours cleanly per client.
What does switching from MOCO-only time tracking cost?
Pro is €9 per person per month, net. Client logins are free and MCP is included on every plan, with no surcharge for agent access. You migrate exactly one client project first and decide then.

One client project. Two weeks. Then you decide.

Create a board, import a live project, run the first agent PR. No rollout, no migrating eight clients at once.
